Future-Proof Foundation
The future changes fast. Our innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum gives you the 21st-century tools and broad-based knowledge to always stay ahead of the curve.
A recent report by Dell Technologies estimates that 85 percent of jobs that will exist in 2030 have yet to be invented. For more than 130 years, Rollins has held firm to the belief that a college education should do more than prepare you for your first job. It should prepare you for a lifetime of learning and outfit you with the knowledge and tools to thrive in an uncertain future. In a time where the careers of tomorrow have yet to be created, our innovative, interdisciplinary education equips you with the expertise to succeed as the world evolves.
When the World Economic Forum surveyed 350 top executives from nine leading industries about the skills necessary for future success, the 10 essential skills were complex problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, people management, coordinating with others, emotional intelligence, judgment and decision making, service orientation, negotiation skills, and cognitive flexibility—exactly the kind of expertise students develop through Rollins’ distinctive model of liberal arts education.

Climate change. Terrorism. Global inequality. The challenges of the 21st are too complex to solve through any single lens. They require changemakers who can make connections across multiple perspectives and disciplines and craft solutions in collaboration. Our core curriculum—Rollins Foundations in the Liberal Arts (RFLA)—reflects this reality. You’ll learn to think across barriers and work in diverse teams to design strategies to resolve real-world problems.
RFLA is both developmental and integrative, growing along with students and fostering connections between coursework and to the world beyond campus. As you rise through RFLA, you’ll take five linked seminars that challenge you to encounter new ways of thinking, to place things in context, and to construct a critical conversation through research and original analysis. You’ll bring those perspectives and tools together in a capstone course to tackle a complex global problem.
