At Rollins, you’ll start putting your ideas to work in the world right away. In fact, a few days after they move into their dorms, every Tar receives a swift introduction to the power of service via SPARC Day. During this annual day of service, first-year students partner with faculty, staff, and classmates to support an average of 24 community organizations right in our backyard.

Orlando ranks in the top 10 in the country for internships per capita, and Rollins has an entire office dedicated to helping Tars secure the very best career builders. As a result, you’ll have a serious leg up when it comes to securing your ideal internship. In recent years, your future classmates have honed their craft everywhere from Universal Orlando Resort and The Walt Disney Company to Capitol Hill and the United Nations.

Each year, Rollins’ Office of International Programs offers more than 90 study abroad programs. Every semester, Tars see and do things around the world that most people only dream of—from hiking Mount Kilimanjaro to hopping a train through the French Alps. But these once-in-a-lifetime adventures aren’t just about exploring the globe—you’ll also hone your communication skills and develop cultural fluency. No wonder more than half of executives say they’re more likely to hire graduates with study abroad experience.

Gateway to real-world experience that works

A survey recently conducted by AAC&U reveals that today’s employers demand college graduates who have demonstrated the ability to apply knowledge and skills in real-world settings—precisely the kind of graduate Rollins Gateway is designed to produce.

Executives and hiring managers also said that they were more likely to hire candidates with these experiences:

From addressing access to safe drinking water in the Dominican Republic to helping preserve one of America’s most dramatic landscapes, Rollins’ Immersion experiences allow students to engage some of the world’s most pressing issues through weekend and sometimes weeklong journeys of education, reflection, and action. These transformative trips have become bucket-list experiences for Tars, which is a big reason why the College has ranked No. 1 nationally for the highest percentage of students who participate in alternative breaks for six of the past seven years.
